Question Rergarding Explorer (XP file manager - not IE6)

Is there a way to get Explorer (XP File Manager) to remember the previous
view? I always want the details view and continually have to reset it to
that, also the 1st column showing the file name is never wide enough & I
have to manually adjust it each time also. Can this be permanently set
also?

Set it up the way you want it to look.
Explorer menu, select tools and folder options
Under View, select Apply to all folders - and apply
