Explorer issues

XP Pro. used machine, the OS looks like a original default setup.

I used XP for about 2 hours, so a few basic questions:

I have selected Show all folders

1.In Explorer, even though I selected Details in View, and no partitions, I
don't see the Desktop icon. Also, I don't see the Recycle Bin. I want to
drag a shortcut to the Desktop, see no way to do it if I can't see it in
Explorer.

2. In Explorer, opening Windows folders, I don't see the Start Menu. Where
is it?

3. In Device Manager, XP Pro is listed as Version 2002. Did XP Pro have
different versions?

The previous owner or his computer shop must have set the display to
something. The view of C folders I get in W2K and W98 I can't see in XP.

To rephrase my question:

What setting do I use to get a normal view of all folders on the C drive?

Never mind, after loading my favorite shell, that made it easy.
