Does anyone know if Ntosknl.exe was changed during the latest Vista
updates this week, my AV is showing it was changed?
Is there a MS Vista web site which indicates what files have been changed
by each update?
Also how or can you click on any Vista update after installed in the
control panel as in WinXP and read what the heck the update was about?
TIA

Yes, it was.

The only reason you get that because you dbl/click Programs and Features and
not Windows Update as I told you.

There are "View update history" which behaves as you describe, and "View
Installed updates" which behaves as ICU describes. You can't get to either
by the simple route you describe unless you've been there before.

OOOPS.
Best spend a little more time little reading instructions.
I totaly missed the "View update History" instruction and went to the
control panel "Programs & Features", which is where the install and
uninstall features are now in Vista formally the WinXP "Add & Remove" and
where you could see all your MS updates plus their info etc.
Why MS chose to move these features to two new locations with different
functions available in each location is beyond me, especially when you can
still see MS updates in the Program & Features section, but only uninstall
MS updates there.
Oh well live and learn I guess.
Anyway I still appreciate the help that has been provided here.
Thank you.

Yep, I tried to cancel that message when I realized my error but
apparently it didn't work, and I did send another message immediately
confessing to not reading your message carefully enough.(G)
Ah well alls well that ends well, and I did get to go where I wanted
thanks to your pointer.
Your help has been much appreciated.
