Jeff

I would like to be more involved in this group. I have to say I am reaping
HUGE benefits while putting little back in. I would like to at least be able
to help others as much as I have been helped here, I dont exactly feel right
about getting all the benefits without at least doing some of the work. If I
"Discover" Freeware that is useful, how do I post without duplicating whats
already in acf? Plus I think I need to read the faq fully (Before someone
tells me to).

About the best thing you can do (shy of being a freeware author and giving
us all your freeware...) is to simply respond to some questions if you have
something to say that may help. If you find something new - make a post.
There are so many sites out there that no one individual can cover them all
so if you think you've discovered a real gem - post it.

Enjoy,

Bob S.

Hi Jeff,

If you want to find out what discussions, if any, have already been in
acf, go here and search on the title of the freeware you're looking
at...http://groups.google.com/group/alt.comp.freeware?hl=en
You'll be able to see previous threads on any particular freeware if
there were any. :)

I wouldn't worry about previous mentions too much. There's a saying that you can never step twice in
the same river and so it is with ACF - there are always newcomers and people who missed previous
posts or weren't interested at the time. If you post about a useful app - what it does, why you like
it etc. the post will be welcome. That said, if you label a Pricelessware app as a "new discovery"
someone will almost certainly correct you. ;) A quick peek at the current PL or the ACF program
index (which has all past and present PW apps) is a good way to avoid that pitfall:

re work. . . you have a golden opportunity :) to contribute to the group right now by posting
descriptions of your favorite programs - apps you think should be on the 2006 Pricelessware List -
in the PL 2006 thread. See the Procedures page for more info - then ask if you have any questions.
