Question for users of eTrust

For those of you using eTrust EZ Antivirus, is there an easy, painless,
quick, bloodfree way of COMPLETELY turning off this antivirus so I can
defrag or backup my system. I have version 6.1.5.8 on an antiquated Win98
system. Thank you.

Hi,
Have you tried turning off realtime protection during defrag?
goto: Options/realtime protection and uncheck both options.

I know, but you then have to reboot. This is the only antivirus that I have
ever seen that you have to reboot to turn if off. I was looking for a
quicker way (too lazy and impatient). Hmmmm, I wonder if ctrl-alt-delete
might do the trick?

That was the main issue I didn't like about it when I tried it some
time back. I really thought they would have corrected that by now.

Thank you, I knew about this feature, but all other antivirus that I have
owned could be turned off indefinitely until I turned it back on again. The
maximum time allowed for the Snooze feature is 99 minutes and somethines
when doing a combination defrag and back up I need several hours.

But thanks.

Acadia.
