Question about XP Pro File Encryption

Am I correct in assuming (I know, I know) that if I have several Win XP
Home/Win 98 machines accessing data from a machine running Win XP Pro (in
workgroup mode) that uses file encryption that the XP Home/Win 98 machines
will receive the data un-encrypted?

In other words, I would like to have the database encrypted on the Win XP
Pro machine, but be able to have the Win XP Home and Win 98 machines
properly access the data over the local LAN.

Thanks, Sleepless. I thought so, but of the 3 books in the library, none
addressed the issue. Also, the guy at Best Buy didn't know: he thought they
all had to be XP Pro.
