question about WindowOnecare installation?

when getting Window oncecare/signing up for onecare beta does it
automatically download and install it using browser/activex by default only?
or can I just download the executable file and install it later on.

What I think it does is downloads the executable to the temporary file
folder on your computer and launches the installation from there to make it
seem as if its downloading from the website.

As far as I know, for the purposes of the public beta, the online
installation is all that is available. I'm not sure they've made a final
decision about whether there will be multiple distribution or installation
modes for the final product.
