Yes, not allThanks. In reality, it's not a primary
account for me. I like to experiment, so I signed up early
in the Gmail Beta era. As Google became more invasive, I
shifted away, and only use it occasionally (e.g. this
newsgroup).
You don't need *any* real e-mail address to use newsgroups (see mine,
for example, which is obviously fake). If fact, it's best not to,
since it substantially lowers the risk of your address being harvested
by spammers. I also don't use my real address because I don't want to
get e-mail responses to my posts.
