does anybody know how i can change how my mouse double click too one click?

To change the number of mouse clicks required to open items

Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Folder Options.

Yes, Try this click Start >> Control panel >> Folder options.
On the Folder options Window click on General Tab then locate this:
[ Click Items as follows----------------
(*) Single-Click to open an item (point to select)
(*) Underline Icon titles consistent with my browser
( ) Underline icon title only when I point at them
( ) Double- Click to open an item (Single-click to select)

Or Windows Explorer the Click Tools >> Folder Options.
HTH.
Let us know.

All very valid suggestions but I do find a double click button
useful. I have set the wheel click on my Logitech mouse for
that. I know this is not properly a Windows post :-)

Hi James,
Yes, I prefer the double click myself but it is a personal preference than a
technical one.
Some do like it quick some just want to be sure they are not clicking
something they may have another thought about it or may be change their minds.
HTH.
