Question about Epson C62 & Ink

Moo

Hi,

My original ink cartridge recently ran out so I purchased a new one
(compatible not original epson). I decided to try out the glossy photo
paper that came with the printer so printed out one full A4 photo on best
photo quality.

I found out after that the black ink cartridge was empty!! Is this to be
expected?? Surely it can print more than on page of A4 on a black ink
cartridge??!

Thanks!

Of course, not at all. You came accross a faulty cartridge.

So what does that mean? It feels like the cartridge is empty.. does it mean
that instead of pumping out the correct amount of ink it just sent it all
out? I don't have my receipt or box now :(

I have ordered some new ones from www.inkylink.co.uk hopefully I will get
better results this time.. £9.60 to print one sheet of A4 did seem
excessive (!).

It could be that priming the system can and does often use a lot of ink.
Basically the C62 may not be the most frugal of printers but it seems not to
be as bad as the 810/820 series which is an ink hog. Of the last 200 or so
recently we've only had however one quirky one in the CX3200.

I supose, the cartridge has ink inside, but the flow of ink has
discontinued.

Is it an Epson cartridge? You might contact Epson about it. What probably
happened is that either it wasn't full in the first place, or it got clogged
somehow.
