Epson workforce 610 won't charge inks

I have a six month old Epson workforce 610. It had been working
great until few days ago when it ran out of black. I replaced the
black ink cartridge then tried to print. No black. I did nozzle
check and clean head several times over two days. No help. The
nozzle check showed the three color cartridges were fine. In
frustration, I replaced them also. Now, none prints. It seems to
me the printer won't charge inks.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

As rudimentary as this sounds I'm assuming you took the yellow tape off of
each ink cartridge before installing otherwise the cartridges get vapor lock
and no ink can be printed.

Call Epson support since the printer is 6 months old and I would assume
still under warranty.

I agree with Jan, if it is under warranty, have Epson deal with it.
Keep the new cartridges unless they tell you otherwise, because they may
send you a printer with none. Also, if you have been using 3rd party
inks, you may not want to send the printer in with them, it just gives
Epson excuses for not doing a warranty exchange.

If you decide to try to do a cleaning and unclog for the printer, before
doing so email me and request my free cleaning manual for Epson printers.

Please mention the model of your printer, what has gone wrong and if you
are using a continual inking system, 3rd party inks or refillable ink
cartridges.

I assume that this isn't your first inkjet printer, and you do know what
to do with the new cartridge. And since your printer is only 6 months ago
which means it's still under warrantee, if something is very working with
the printer can can contact Epson and they may send you the replacement
(either the printer or ink catridge).

I never have any similar problem to share, but before each model, I always
spend at least few weeks on reseach and I have read some model has some
similar error, and Epson usually send the replacement ink catridge(s).

Thanks to all those who replied to my question. I followed your
advice and called Epson. After a twenty minute over the phone
diagnosis, I was told they would ship me a replacement printer.

Thanks for your help.
