Question about an SATA MB

B

Bob

I just bought (and not yet received) a custom computer based on an MSI
K8N Neo4 SLI MotherBoard. It is coming with an SATA(of which I know
little about) 250GB HDD, a DVD burner and a DVD-ROM.

I have 2 older IDE HDD's of 60 and 80 GB in my current box.

Now here is the question...

I want to know if I can install the 2 old HDD's on the 2 open IDE
connections? In other words does this MB support 4 IDE devices AND the 1
SATA HDD. If yes, does this mean I could actually run 8 drives (4 SATA
and 4 IDE together?)

Thanks, Bob

I have been out of the hardware loop since I built my last box a few
years ago.

Sure looks like it except it looks more like 4 IDE and 2 SATA
