I have a Presario with XPhome and another Presario with Win95b. I have just
got a BlackBox 4 port Router. I have a PPPoE connection ( awaiting a ADSL
Broadband connection shortly from the ISP). I have used a straight (path)
Cat5e cable from the modem to the Router and then to the two PC's. The
Router's default IP Address is between 192.168.2.100 and 192.168.2.200(the
Default Range of DHCP assignable addresses on the Router).

The TCP/IP Properties is set as under:
Obtain an IP Address automatically
Obtain DNS server address automatically

The LAN connection status shows as under:
IP Address 192.168.2.100
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.2.1

I AM NOT ABLE TO ESTABLISH AN INTERNET CONNECTION- EVEN WITHOUT CONNECTING
THE WIN95b PC! WHAT COULD BE WRONG?

Without a Router PPPOE needs Software to connect.
With Router the PPPOE Connection has to be set in the Router.

Before getting the Router I had the software for PPPoE installed and I was

I'm not familiar with the Black Box router hardware, but most routers
are configured in a browser. Refer to the documentation for your
router.
