quarantined items

i was notified of a risk by windows defender and that it had quarantined an
item, on checking there is a message in quarantine saying the item was
disabled and in a protected area but it does not say where how do i find its
location so i can see if there is a problem as neither norton or onecare live
picked up anything, many thanks.

The item is stored in an encrypted fashion so that it doesn't ring alarms
from other scanners--antivirus or antispyware. You can restore it via the
quarantine dialogs.

You should check the System event log for details about exactly what was
quarantined.

Start, run, eventvwr.msc <enter>

Then go to View, filter, and set the source dropdown to Windefend.

Then look for yellow-triangle records that show what was detected.
