Quarantine

Stephen

I ran a scan on a windows XP SP2 pc and found some
spyware and Kazza. I chose to quarantine all but I know
want to restore my kazza files that are gone now.
When I open the quarantine manage there is nothing listed
however if I browse to the quarantine folder all of my
files are in there with the names changed.

Any suggestions??

Regards
Stephen

Hi

It can take some time for quarantine manager to recognise your files.
Leave it open and wait.

Go back to the quarantine UI window--and leave the machine sitting there for
a good long time--at least an hour, perhaps several hours.

Posts here have mentioned times between 45 minutes and 4 hours, depending on
the number of files involved, and perhaps other speed issues.

When you manage to recover the files, please immediately copy or move all
the music to a different location--outside the \program files tree.

More than one report here has seen successful retrieval from quarantine,
only to find the files gone (again!) after a subsequent reboot. I don't
know what's going on here--but better to be safe.
