q828750 patch not working

I've been infected by the Qhost-1 trojan, and I did what
I was told by running the q828750 patch. However, it keep
saying "You must have Internet Explorer 6 installed to
run this patch", but I clearly do have IE6 installed. Can
anyone help me on this?

IE Help>About>Update Versions> Is Q828750 already listed here?

Did you get Q828750 from Windows Update or the download page?

Did you update your virus definitions and run a full system scan before
attempting the install of Q828750?

I got the same message and I haven't been infected with anything. I
had downloaded the patch Saturday from Microsoft via a newsgroup link,
didn't try using it until last night. Although the downloaded patch
failed to execute and showed "you must have IE6", I went to the
regular windowsupdate website and had it installed from scratch, no
problem.
