purging the Downloaded program files folder

hello matey peeps

had a small prob with a 'PurityScan' malware infection which dumped a bunch
of spyware files onto my machine as identified by Panda free-scan AV... good
news being that i've eventually managed (via panda-scan info) to delete all
the reg entries & associated files etc... bar 1

which (according to Panda) is sitting in my C:\Windows\Downloaded Program
Files folder\c4d85db1e929209cf81093aca3a9236a_35.exe

now when i run a search for the file it doesn't show up, neither is it
visible in i open the folder in question (there's only a flash shockwave &
the PandaScan itself in there, 2 objects 136k + 12k)

but if i select properties for that folder in Explorer it reports 10 files
with a total of 700k

things attempted so far being to set 'Views' to show all folder & files etc
(including system files) - no joy, no show

booting into Safe-mode + doing the same, again no joy

repeated the Panda AV online scan which reports the same file still residing
in that folder

so now my question is... any suggestions as to how i might get rid of this
file and/or empty/purge my 'Downloaded Program files' folder in order to
get-rid of this invisible malware program? (i don't mind reinstalling the
flash player & Pandascan if necessary)

TIA from slider

Doenloaded Program Files is a system folder with a special view. What you
see is not at all like what's actually there. Tp get a normal view of the
folder, open a command prompt window and type

attrib -s "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files"

Then open Windows Explorer and navigate to that folder. You'll see the
files and folder listed that are actually present. Once you've found what
you're looking for and removed it (I'd copy it to another location
temporarily), go back to the command prompt window and restore the system
attribute with

attrib +s "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files"

hi ya Gary, thanks for the tip (that got rid of the little bugger heh :)

plus found a bunch of other stuff in there as well but that's not currently
regarded as being spyware/adware etc (installshield?) Panda-check affirms
it, and so it looks like my machine is finally free again hehe...

best of luck to ya fella for that... keep up the good work!

from slider (going away singing : free at last, free at last, thank god
almighty i'm free at last :)
