i am thinking of purchasing spyware eliminator and registry medic. does
anyone know anything good or bad about these programs. i am familiar with
spybot and adaware but these do not show all the errors. would appreciate
your input. van

I know nothing about registry medic.

Save your money. Do *not* purchase Aluria Spyware Eliminator.

[[Aluria Software has partnered with the WhenU adware company as well as
giving WhenU a "spyware free" certification.]]
[[In light of this new relationship between these two companies, I can no
longer recommend Aluria Spyware Eliminator to my readers. ]]

Visit these sites. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are really good.
Download, install, run, update and run again; one or all. They are all
good, FREE utilities. Make sure you update every program, even if you
just downloaded it. You must have the latest updates. Without updates,
you have a gun without ammo. You also need to use more than one
anti scumware program. One program will *not* catch everything.

Don't waste your money on either one of them. Neither one is worth
what they are asking for them.

Anything that tries to clean the registry is going to cause problems. My
experience, friends, and I am sure a lot of people in this ng will agree.

thanks very much. i am going to visit these sites and i will be careful.

If you are looking to purchase spyware elimination software, the two that
seem to be highly recommended are:

Webroot Spy Sweeper

AND

CA PestPatrol.

I would be cautious about any others since I have seen some that deliver
adware and they will not scan for their partner's "junk" software.

No single anti-spyware program even comes close to catching all
the spyware out there. For that reason, you should run several. I
don't recommend either of those you ask about, but do recommend a
combination of Spyware Blaster, Adaware, and Spybot Search and
Destroy.
