Purchase from Individual

I recently purchased a computer with WindowsXP Home from
an individual. How can I get his name and other info off
of it, and install my name?

Jack,

You could reinstall it all form scratch using the CD and Product Activation
Code he will have supplied to you are part of the legal transfer of rights
to use the license of Windows XP with that machine.
If you did not get the CD ROM and Product Activation key and any other
associated paperwork, then you did not actually buy the license to use
Windows XP on that PC and will need to buy your own copy.

(The same is pretty much true for any other software that may be
preinstalled on the PC)
