Publishing Woes

S

Sharon

I am using Global World Hosting FP2003 Publishing Wizard
and have experienced a few problems. Each time I publish,
the result on my site is a directory of all the files. I
created a folder under My Web Sites, and created the site
within that folder. Will the following steps correct the
problem?

1) The Index.htm has been changed to Index.html.
2) The web host returned my site back to it's original
state.
3) The site files are now directly under My Web Sites, no
subdirectory folder.

IF I see a directory of files again, is there a way to
Undo the published files and begin again? How do I correct
this?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Sounds like you are not creating a Web, just a bunch of files.

File/Open Web
Create your web and save it.
Then
File/PUBLISH to your server.

Your index page has to be named in accordance with your hosts requirements it may be: index.htm, index.html, default.htm, default.html if you're unsure read their tech help section or email them and ask.

Yes you can delete your online files and start over, or just Overwrite (Do a Full Publish).
