Publishing website

Guest

I'm trying to publish my live site back down to my computer and I keep
getting the following error-
"An error occurred accessing your frontpage web files. Authors - if
authoring against a web server, please contact the web master for the servers
site. Webmaster - please see the servers system log for more details."

I am at a loss as to what I need to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I get the following error when I try opening http://localhost.

COULD NOT FIND A WEB SERVER AT "localhost" ON PORT 80.
PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE WEB SERVER NAME IS VALID AND YOUR PROXY
SETTINGS ARE SET CORRECTLY. IF YOU ARE SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS CORRECT, THE
WEB SERVER MAY BE TEMPORRILY OUT OF SERVICE

Then the FP SE are not applied
Start All Programs Administrative Tools IIS

Ok, I'm lost.
This didn't seem to do anything.
When I right click on the root web - all task- check server extensions.
It says its corrected but I still can't publish to my local computer.

Hey that worked!
but why can't I publish to any folder on my computer like I used to be able
to.
I have multiple sites that I work on and I would like to save copies of all
of them.
