Publishing Sub Web Problem

D

Dan

I am having a problem with publishing my sub webs (3). After publishing the
main web I then tried to publish the sub webs. The program lets me connect
to the server, list the pages on the server, publishes same fphoverclass
files (2 of them, even though they are already up there), then a window pops
up again (I believe at the beginning of attempting to publish the sub webs)
wanting my ID and PW. The window pops back up every time I submit the ID
and PW. If I am already logged on and publish several main web pages, why
this window comes back up to publish the sub webs. Anybody got an answer and
fix for this?

You need to contact your host to see if you have permission to
create/publish subwebs.

Hi Tom, just wanted to thank you for all your help with my situation on the
publishing problems we have been experiencing. We now have the Main Web up
and FP is working in sync with it. I have emailed our host provider and
sent them your response that they need to check the permissions on creating
and publishing our Sub Webs.

Tom, is there a way that I can check the permissions and fix them if they
are blocking me?

No.

Some hosts will only let you publish the subweb from the root web
- did you also try publishing the root web and use the Include Subwebs option

Stefan, yes I did. I first attempted to publish this way but as soon as the
process had all of the files from the Main web up and started the sub web we
ran into this problem of the server re-questing our PW again, which it
continued to do over and over again. The tech person at Chapel
Communications said the Windows Extensions unfortunately were not the most
stable program developed, and they would change permissions.

Sounds like they did not have the FP SE set up to support subwebs
