Publishing problem

FP (2000 and 2002) are finally are finally seeing that the
FPSE are installed on my server. Now I get to try and
figure out something new.
On my machine, FP2000 will not recognize me by
username/password. Therefore I cannot publish.
On an Admin machine (of a trusted domain)(logged in as
admin), FP2002 will accept my username and password.
However, It will not publish to my root directory. Error is
that the directory (/) is marked as executable.
I am assuming that my username etc have no assigned
permissions and that I only have everyone(read only) access.
The second error is beyond me.

Suggestions please. I know I could find a real host who
knows better but I cannot beat the price that I have

All worked fine before the FPSE were functional.
