Publishing location troubles FP2002

E

Eric

Just installed a new FP2002 and opened our web
(http:\\xxxxxx.com) and am having trouble trying to
PUBLISH the thing...

When I make changes to pages and then just save those
pages, the changes seem to be updated when I review the
website in another browser online.

BUT, when I try to "PUBLISH" the web, it asks me where to
publish it and I enter the site name (http:\\xxxxxx.com)
and get an error message of
"Please enter a publish destination that is different
than the current open web http:\\xxxxxx.com"

I am sure I am doing something stupid and would really
appreciate any help anyone can offer.... thanks!

You are opening the web directly on the host/remote server, so there is no
need to publish it, unless you want create a backup on your local HD, in
which case you would enter a URL of c:\webname

If you are working on your online web in FP you don't need to Publish, since the changes are being done live
You can only publish you online web to another server or a local web (localhost server or disc based) on your PC
