publish to web

Getting ready to build an access database using 2010 beta and see where it
can be published to a website, (sharepoint site). I do not have sharepoint
and do not want one either. Can access publish to a non sharepoint site?

Access2010 will only publish to Sharepoint. If you don't want to operate
Sharepoint then Microsoft offers a shared Sharepoint service - I think you
find it in their Live Office area but don't quote me on that......and I
presume there will be competition in this area that offers perhaps a little
more personal service; what I've seen so far is www.AccessHosting.com (at
least I think that is the jist of what they are doing...) I will hazard the
guess that there will be other entrepreneurial types offering shared
sharepoint services.

If you don't really need to be web based but need geographically separated
users sharing the same core tables then you might want to look at
www.AccessTables.com The advantage is that one runs Access locally and so
can have alot more complex & dynamic queries/reports than can easily be
implemented in a web architecture. But there are trade offs. One can do
this same type sync/replicate format with a sharepoint acting as the central
hub with the 'offline' feature in .accdb .
