Publish Conflict

I added a counter. I was told that the only way I could see the counter was
to publish my webpage. I did and received a question mark (?) at the bottom
of the page. Saying that I have a "publish couflict." I'm stuck, someone
please tell me how to correct this.

The hit counter requires FrontPage Extensions, and requires being published using http://
and not ftp://
