Outlook public outlook

We have public outlook on 3 computers. 1 computer is a server and 2 clients. I did the service pac 2 update on the 2 clients and public outlook would not allow me to open any of my folders. I can see the folder list but not open them. We use XP and outlook 2003. Is there a work around for public outlook 1.2 and the service pac 2? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
