PSW.x-vir TROJAN

I keep getting a pop-up from my system tray telling me that my computer is
infected with the latest version of the PSW.x-vir trojan. If I click on the
balloon it brings me to "http://www.virusblast.com/?aid=18" where i am asked
to download VirusBlast to remove it. I also get popups for gambling sites
and other "security alerts" telling me my computer is infected with various
trojans and viruses and asking me to pay for their removal software.
Finally, every time I open Internet Explorer, two windows open, and one of
them is "http://www.syssecuritypage.net/" which tells me, again, to download
their software. I have heard that these programs are scams, but I've run
Norton Internet Security 2006, AdAware (latest version), Kaperski, and a few
online scan programs, and while they often pick up various spyware and
viruses, they never clean the system fully and they do not prevent the popups
and browser hijacking. I've ran the above mentioned programs in safe mode as
well. How can I fix my computer? I run XP Home edition.
