.pst file

I recently upgraded my main work computer to Windows 7. Before doing so, I
copied all of my Outlook 2007 files to a backup disc. I did the upgrade,
reinstalled all my software, and re-established my Exchange email
connections. Lastly, I tried to open the .pst file that had previously held
my email folders, calendars, contacts, etc., but I got this message: "The
file C:\. . .\whatever.pst cannot be opened."
Any ideas out there?

How are you trying to open it?

In addition, why was all your Outlook data in a PST file and how did you
create this file? Exchange doesn't use a PST file.
