Hi

After I disconnect my mouse from the PS2 port, my WinXP cannot detect it. It
should be auto-detect. I have also tried to reboot serveral times, but it
fails mostly. It does show a ECSD update on the only one success time. How
can I fix it?

Thanks

You disconnected the PS/2 mouse while the system was running - that's a
no-no.
It should be auto-detect.

After reboot only since there is no hotplug capability.
I have also tried to reboot serveral times, but it fails mostly.

PS/2 mice require IRQ12 in order to run. If this IRQ isn't reserved by
the BIOS, another IRQ will be assigned in most cases. Enter the BIOS
setup and see if there is an option to reserve IRQ12h for the PS/2
mouse.

In addition to my previous advice: See if your PS/2 mouse is listed in the
Device Manager (Pointing Devices) and remove that entry (if present) prior
to reboot.

PS2 mice must be disconnected/connected while the pc is OFF.
