PS2 Mouse and keyboard stop working

My HP Celeron 466 ps2 keyboard and mouse stopped
responding after WIN-XP is running. This just started
happening even though I've been using XP for some time.

When I plug in a USB optical mouse, that works fine...

Any ideas?
 
I had a similar mouse and keyboard stop working after plugging in a usb
digital camera. I had to shutdown the computer and unplug it from the wall
outlet for a couple minutes then boot up.
