PS2 keyboard partly faulty - USB keyboard correct

XP pro /SP2
On ANY software with writing possibility
With the Cursor keys and key DEL there will be only ONE action per
activation. The continuous mode (permanent pressing) is not working.
With all characters + backspace continuous mode is working.
With permanent activation of DEL or cursor, CPU usage jumps from 2% to 80%
(P4 3,3GHz) and after a while the keyboard buffer overload beep is to be
heard.
No changes for repeat rate - all default values

Actions taken:
Tried with 3 different PS2 keyboards - same trouble
Drivers reloaded from CD - no change
Running in Save Mode - not correct
In pure DOS - correct = hardware correct
In DOS mode (CMD) also faulty
Starting a different XP system PE from CD - correct
Additional XP installation on a different partition (only pure XP without
any additional software) - also not correct.

I really have no more ideas where and what to check.

Changed to USB keyboard, every thing is fine

Any useful hint will be appreciated
A new install will not help - new install on a different partion shows the
same problem

Have you checked in your BIOS? I had probs with using a USB keyboard
and I had to go into the BIOS and enable/disable USB or PS2 support
for the keyboard. Just a thought.
