Proxy settings via DHCP

I heard rumors that you can assign proxy settings via the DHCP server?
How true are these claims? How reliable is the service? How is this
accomplished?

We are having problems with the group policy settings with regards to
the proxy settings and are looking for a new solution. This is a
complete win2k environment, sp3. Thanks for your time! -Fred
