Proxy ok now?

Hi, a couple of years ago if I installed Defender on a domain joined XP
machine which used a proxy setting in IE to get outside, the updates would
fail and there was no Defender proxy setting, as it was intended for home
use. Has that changed?

Windows Defender uses the proxy settings in IE--so if your proxy is set in
the IE UI, Defender should work.

Additionally, it uses the Windows Update servers--so if you have a proxy
which asks for credentials or doesn’t work with the IE settings, if you
allow traffic through to just the Windows Update servers, Defender will be
able to update.

That sounds like early beta behavior--it's come a long way....
