Prompt on shut down

Have WindowsXP set up for automatic updates when on line. Has been working fime. Downloaded an update today and when I turn off computer I get the following.END PROGRAM - WUPDATER.EXE "Ending program Please wait". Then I get "Program not responding To return to Windows and check the status of the program click cancel" "Choose to end program immediately click end"

WUPDATER.EXE is a common name for virus files and Adware/Spyware. Update your antivirus software and rescan your system. Also see www.lavasoftusa.com for AdAware
