Project Skeleton

Hi:

I just received an error message while my son was playing
a game. It asked me to send an email to Microsoft. The
error message was called Project Skeleton. I have
firewall protection and am current on Microsoft updates.
Should I be worried?

The error reporting service, when enabled, will intercept
application failures and offer to send a report, the contents
of which you can examine before it is sent. These go into
a database that is shared with third-party software companies
and is used to improve application dependability. What is
sent is not an infringement of your privacy, it is just some
traceback info about what failed. In the first few months
after XP release, these reports resulted in drastic improvements
especially in video drivers, yielding a more stable experience
for most XP users.
