When I click the start menu I see all my programs but when I click on any of them they won't open and say "empty". When I do a find they are right where they are supposed to be. On the c drive and program directory. Help!

Any background information would be very useful here..

All of your programs?
When did it start this?
What did you do (software install, hardware upgrade, etc) before you noticed
this?
Does it work this way for all users?
What is the exact error message?
What programs do this if it is not all of them?
Do the programs run directly from the "Program Files" directories?

It effects all my programs. There is no error message, just doesn't respond to double click. Loaded the new xp software last night and all seemed to load properly. But now can get no programs to open, unless I do a search and then click on the appropriate file. Works same for all users

This is what search brings up for my Palm Desktop program: c:\documents and settings\windows user\start menu\programs

Thanks for any help
