Programs at the start up

Hi ... I am curious when you turn your computer on and
all the programs start up ( running ) is there a way to
select which program you would like to start up first or
do they just start running in alphabetically in order ???
Reason why i am asking is i would love to have my zone
alarm program to boot up last when i turn on my
computer ... Can it be done ????
