programs and files are being deleted

I've been updating my comp with latest downloads, freeing
up disk space, and deleting script errors from my registry
editor. Suddenly "word pad" disappears, then the games
that came with "Accessories" disappeared, now an important
file on note pad has disappeared. Please help.
 
Perhaps you need to be more careful when you're "deleting script errors from
my registry
editor".
