program to remove additions added to URL

Version: 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4

I manage a school web and often wish to copy the URL but somehow
additions are added
EG: http:// ------%20--------%20------
Is there a simple program to remove these additions ?

Any help or advice appreciated.
