Program to realign DVD Player

Hi all, I have a prob with my IDE DVD player.
(ASUS E616) XP. Using WMP and PowerDVD.

It has just started playing up. When I put a DVD
in it, it doesnt play. If I eject then it plays the
movie! Somehow I think something has gone
out of alignment in it. I think it has something
to do with this DVD that wouldnt play in an
external Philips multizone DVD player. I then chucked
this DVD in, and it went. And the strange thing about
this one DVD, is its the only DVD that didnt
play in the external DVD 30-40 others did no probs
at all!

And now the other DVD's that DID work in the
IDE DVD dont, until I eject them and then play it
again. And then it (XP) decides to play it!

Does it sound like the DVD has gone out of alignment
the laser in it?? I rang Philips the other day about this
and the guy said the DVD could be pirated.

Even tho I paid for it at a DVD shop.

Could this be why it wont run on the external dvd,
and the other 30-40 do?

And why it could have misaligned this IDE DVD player?

Any ideas?

The Phillips guy is full of bull. That drive is very likely going
south - in other words - defective. If the drive is under warranty,
I suggest you have it repaired or exchanged. You could of course try
cleaning it with a kit as there is a possibility of the lens being
dirty.
