I have two computers hooked up by a crossover cable. One is xp pro(main),and the other one is xp home used as as backup. The problem I'm having is, I can't open the program files folder from either computer. ie:"computer not accessible, might not have permission to use network source, contact adm." Thanks papat1

Just a direct connection? No router or hub inbetween? Router

Have you run the networking wizard? Yep

Have you gone to the properties of each drive you want to share and allowed access via sharing options?

Just for clarification...

stupid question--
if you're using a router b/w computers shouldn't you have a straight (patch) cable instead of a cross over?
