Profile cannot be loaded

Hi,

We have Win2K3 Domain. We have a local Win2K3 DC at our site. We have
several Windows 2000 professional users.

To say, some of the users get the errors stated below when they login
initally every morning ! When they restart their PC after getting this error
and try to login, there is no problem. Even after one successful logon, they
shutdown their PC and start and can successfully logon. The error they get is

On checking problems related to such errors there is lot of possibilities.
Like a links from www.eventid.net -

I guess something with the network or with the userprofiles. I tried to
delete the UsrClass.dat at location - "C:\Documents and Settings\Current
User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat" and
login again. But no success.

I cannot find where exactly is the problem. Please suggest.

Hello abckid,

For event id 1000 are so many options, did you have any other errors? Did
you check that your DNS configuration is correct, only your own internal
DNS configured and no external?

Thanks for reply,

I did check the DNS settings on the clients having this problem. There was a
problem with our site DNS but its now rectified.

Out of few people facing this problem, one of them was having incorrect dns
suffix, which i did changed and there was no problem today morning. Also
other user in which i did not do any changes, had no problems today!!!

Lets see if there is if get the same error on the next day morning.

The correct EventID.Net link for this particular event is:

Even so, only the comments for the "The system cannot find the file
specified" error would be relevant. Did you verify if the Default User
folder, in the Documents and Settings does exist?

Thanks for the link.

The problem does not exist now. The Default User profile does exist in the
Documentes and settings. May be it was corrupted or there was most likely DNS
problem. But the problem does not exist now.

But it happens sometimes when user login, a new profile is created. Like if
it is abc.domain then abc.domain.000 is created.
