i had problems with my comp a feriend fixed it but they installed windows
professional xp i need to delete this as it is not genuineand put my windows
home edition xp genuine back on and save my files that i have on my system

Personally.. If your system is working fine I wouldnt bother. XP tends
to have some serious reinstall issues. But what do you mean exactly by
the xp pro isnt genuine? Could you be a bit more specific?

You would have to clean install winxp home, which means you would have to
backup data to external media first, as you will lose all on the C / win
drive.

The only way to change from WinXP Pro to WinXP Home is to format
the drive and start over. There is no supported downgrade path or
technique.

After backing up any data you wish to preserve, simply boot from
the WinXP Home installation CD. You'll be offered the opportunity to
delete, create, and format partitions as part of the installation
process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot devices in the
PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
