windows xp professional

i already had a genuine windows xp home already installed when brought my pc.
i put in windows xp professional in and when i do my updates is says this is
not a genuine valid product and i want to know how i cant take off windows xp
professional without taking of my windows xp home.

can anybody help please.

Can't be done. To go back to Home you need to do a clean install.

Try contacting the person you bought XP Pro from. You can't revert to XP
Home without a 'Clean' install - which will mean loosing everything on your
hard disk/partition.

To perform a clean install you need an XP installation CD.

Your computer may also have a so-called recovery partition which will erase
your hard disk and reinstall all the software that was on your computer when
it left the factory. Ask the manufacturer.
