i downloaded the rc1 from microsoft and recieved an email from them with the
product key, but now when trying to install vista the supplied key does not
work, i emailed microsoft and am waiting for a responce but wondered if
anyone had any ideas i could try now? it is the 32 bit version, downloaded
yesterday.

i downloaded the 64 bit version first not meaning too. so i did exactly that
but now they say i have had the maxium number of keys for a single user, and
will not give me another.

The product key for vista 64 can be used for vista 32 and vice versa. You
can use it an unlimited amount of times as long as it is used on no more
than ten different PCs.
