Activating problem,

Hello,

Yesterday i downloaded Vista RC1, installed it as bussines version, i
recieved te activating code from Ms but this one wouldn't work. even if i
tried it for a few times..

I recieved a message: the product key you typed is already in use

what can be the problem

Most likely the key is designed for Ultimate.
In that case it will not work for the Business version.
Install Ultimate.

It is my understanding that the KEY is for VISTA Ultimate and any other
version
that you install will only work for 14 days.

Surely you can activate any version with the phone system, without a key if
you downloaded it legitimately? Colin

Without a key, activation is not possible.
You MUST have a key.

No Jupiter. I have downloaded and installed 4 versions of Vista from the
official MS site and hav never had a key. You'll see elsewhere here that I
queried why I had to activate each new version. I just clcik on 'Activate
Now' and follow the phone activation process in the usual way. 3 times i've
ended up with an operator because of a bad connection causing transmission
errors but one late night it all went though easily on their phone robot
system. The operators ask what version it is and how many computers I've got
it on (1) and then give me a number to enter. I've been wondering what all
this key fuss is about quite honestly!

Yes you do need a key, the tech on the phone gave it to you.
Otherwise activation would not have been possible.
