I downloaded a copy of Vista RC1 and did not receive a product key, how am i
going to install it?

The site where you downloaded it from should have had instructions about
obtaining a license key.

If it was downloaded from an unofficial site you may not be able to get one.

I downloaded it from a microsoft page. It is a valid copy.

Did you register with Microsoft to receive a key? Did you
start on the following page:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx

and select your location in the "Download Now" box to
initiate the registration process so you could receive a key?

Thank you Theo. Last night or rather this mourning I received an email with
the code. Although After insatlling Vista, it will not activate. I try to
activate online, and it gives me other options. I get the installtion code
by phone, and then get an error that: the instaltion code does not match my
machine? Without support from microsoft, how do I activate Vista?

If you installed Vista before you entered the Product Key in
any configuration other than Ultimate you cannot activate
it. The keys for the CPP are only for Vista Ultimate -
nothing else.

If you installed it as some other configuration your only
choice is to re-install and use the key in the very
beginning. That will install the Ultimate version.
