I have tried several times to download SP1 and SP2 and when i try
it tells me that the product key i installed my software with is
not the correct on for my disk but it is the key that came with the
disk is there anything I can do to get around this?
First off - of the two service packs for Windows XP - you only need SP2.. It
includes SP1 and every patch released after SP1 and up to SP2. Then you
will need to get the 39+ patches after SP2 was released as well.
Secondly - are you sure the key that was used (is in use) to install Windows
XP is the one that came with your Windows XP CD?
Use one of these to get the installed key:
Belarc Advisor

Magical JellyBean Keyfinder v1.5B3

- Is your Windows XP CD an OEM or Retail version? (Boxed or is there a
sticker on your PC?)
