Processor speed info discrepencies in System Info

Hi,
I just bought a Compaq SR1850NX with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+, and
it's supposed to have a speed of 2.2 Ghz. It has XP Media Center 2005.

If I right click on My Computer, and choose Properties, the speed will show
up only as 984 Mhz, but if I go to Control Panel - System, it showed up as
2.19 Ghz one time, then 1.97 Ghz the next time, not consistent, and it's the
same System Info type screen as you get in My Computer - Properties.

I found something online called Astra32, and that says the speed is 2188.9
Mhz which sounds more reassuring.

Since System Info is giving me conflicting figures, is this something to
worry about as far as exchanging/returning the PC? I bought it 3 days ago
and it has a 30 day return policy. Everything else seems fine so far. Also I
heard that 2.2 in AMD is as fast as a 3.0 in Intel, is that true? Thanks.
